Sri Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama last day (8)
Sri Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama Day 8
The last day of Parikrama is the day when we reach back to Antardvipa.
Antardvipa represents the process of atma nivedanam, full surrender. Indeed Antardvipa is where the most confidential associates of Mahaprabhu resided such as Murari Gupta. At the house of Murari Gupta the last katha was held. The devotees drank that katha with all their hearts relishing every moment. There we heard about the sweet relationship between Lord Caitanya and Murari Gupta. When Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu first exhibited his ecstasies in love of Godhead many couldn’t comprehend what had happened to him. There were rumours that Nimai Pandit had gone mad. Therefore Saci mata requested Murari Gupta to check Nimai. Thus he asked Nimai what his symptoms were. In reply Lord Caitanya said: “ Whenever I utter the names of Krishna my whole body shivers, tears flow from eyes and I fall unconscious.” Hearing this Murari Gupta said: “ I also want this disease. My dear Nimai You have developed Krishna Prema, pure love of Godhead!”
In this ecstatic way mediating on the Lord’s many pastimes which we heard throughout the week we quickly reached to Sri Caitanya Math where Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati’s samadhi is located. Then we moved on to Srivas angan where Maha vishnu Maharaja led a blissful kirtan. Before we noticed we were back to ISKCON Mayapur at the Maha Milan where one by one, all 5 Parikrama parties met. It was very wonderful to see the well organised Bengali party; you could see the first 100 devotees all in saffron then the devotees in white dhotis and in the back the matajis singing with their own kirtan party.
One group had Gaura Nitai placed in a palanquin which resembled exactly like the TOVP ( you can see in the pictures). Very impressive.
We were warmly welcomed by many of Mayapur authorities such as Sankarshan Nitai Prabhu, as well as Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama leading sanyasis i.e HH Bhakti Purushottama Swami and HH Jayapataka Swami. Jayapataka Maharaja reminded us about Bhaktivinoda Thakur’s prediction that one day devotees from all over the world would to Sri Navadvipa Dhama to perform Parikrama. He also said that they would embrace the local devotees and in bliss chant : “ Jay Sacinandana! Jay Sacinandana!”
After this sweet interactions we all headed towards our breakfast prashadam.
We don’t know how to thank Srila Prabhupada and Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu for this life changing experience. My dear reader if you have never done Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama don’t waste your time any more. Please make a commitment to join us next year. Mahaprabhu is waiting for you to come to your eternal home.
Nitai Gaura Premanandee Hari Hari bol!
